The Pablo Neruda Foundation through its three museum houses teaches several workshops:

Workshops La Chascona

1. Pablo Neruda Poetry Workshop:

Is performed since 1988 and is led by the poets Floridor Pérez and Jaime Quezada. Awarded a scholarship for ten months to ten youngs who are starting in poetry. From Thursday 20 January until Friday 18 March, the Pablo Neruda Foundation announces its 2011 traditional poetry workshop for young authors aged 30, chilean and foreign (domestic residents).

Applicants must fulfill the following requirements:

1.-  Curriculum (including full name, ID, age, address, telephone, email, studies)
2.- Literary references (publications, magazines, books, anthologies, readings and lectures participation, awards, experience, workshops, scholarships)
3.- A sample of five unpublished poems.
4.- Brief project about the work to be done during the Workshop.

Applications, with their respective requirements should be submitted in a sealed envelope  to the secretariat of the Museum House La Chascona. Or sent by post to the Poetry Workshop, Pablo Neruda Foundation. Fernando Márquez de la Plata 0192. Barrio Bellavista, Santiago.

Note: No applications will be accepted via email.

The workshop begins in april and is taught on mondays from 19 to 21 hours until december.


2. Creative Writing workshop:

Each of the twelve sessions is preliminary reading of some works of the authors suggested, biography, and especially the work as a basis for each of the topics covered in the workshop as well as for students' personal development.

Number of lessons: 12
•    Day: Wednesday 18 to 20 horas.
•    Place: Museum House La Chascona: Fernando Márquez de la Plata 0192, Providencia.
•    Cost: $ 36.600.- each month in three checks.
•    Total cost:$ 110.000.- Includes the copies of the stories.

Maximum quota: 15 persons.

Workshops Isla Negra:

1. Literary Workshop:

The Literary Workshop 2011 will be led by the distinguished novelist, short story writer and columnist Marcelo Mellado.

Applications should consider:

- Personal information (name, phone number, email and postal address).
- Also, you must include an original text, fiction or chronic maximum of one and half a page. In the case of poetic creation is requested at least 20 and a maximum of 50 lines (a verse, a line).

The workshop will be held on Thursdays between 18:00 and 20:00 hrs., in the hall of the Alberti, Room, Isla Negra.

Submissions will be accepted until 17 March. The list of admitted candidates will be announced in the days before the first session of the workshop that will be Thursday 10 March.

The registration does not confer the right to participates in the workshop, it will be a selection process.

2. Theater Workshop:

The "Theatre Workshop" and "History of the Theatre Workshop" of the museum house of Isla Negra performed since 1993 and are led by the actress and writer María Elena Gertner. Its activities are based on history and performance techniques and includes the installation of a work presented on 18 September each year.

The workshop is free and open to everyone.

Workshops La Sebastiana


1. Poetry Workshop:

The Poetry Workshop of La Sebastiana is performed since 1994 and is led by the poets Sergio Muñoz and Ismael  Gavilán. It is free and is aimed at school children and students up to 25 years in the region of Valparaíso.

Applicants must fulfill the following requirements:
1 .- Curriculum (including full name, ID, age, address, telephone, email, studies)
2 .- A sample of five texts or poems themselves.

Applications are due until Sunday March 27, 2011 by post to Museum House La Sebastiana, Ferrari 692, Valparaiso and also in person at the same place. 10 young poets will be selected to the workshop this year.

The lessons are on friday from 16 to 18 hours.


2. Stained Glass Workshop:

Is performed since 1999 to discover, promote and develop the arts in the people of Valparaiío.  Is led by Pilar Argandoña and inscriptions are open all year between January and December. Is paid and to register you must call in the morning to La Sebastiana.


Workshop in Temuco:

The Pablo Neruda Foundation, each year performed a poetry workshop in Temuco. This works since 2007 and this year was led by the poet originally from Valdivia, Clemente Riedemann, who in 1990 won the Pablo Neruda Award. In 2008 he took over the management, Guido Eytel, storyteller and poet who was awarded with the Gabriela Mistral's poetry, among others.

This workshop is every wednesday from 18.30 to 20.30 in the Directorate of Extension and Communication at the University de la Frontera. Begins in April and ends in November.

The workshop is free and nominations are open for anyone who is interested in poetry, not only of Temuco, may also be from nearby areas. The only condition imposed is fewer than 30 years and send your personal data and three poems written by him in March of each year.
